The 2021 SplashDash 5K Run/Walk is being offered as both a 'live' event and 'virtual' event. When you register you can choose to participate live on race day, June 6th, where we will follow the current protocols for health and safety for participants, sponsors and volunteers. You can also participate virtually, meaning you can choose to run a 5K course of your choosing by yourself or with family and friends and then submit your time on the race website. All participants, whether live or virtual, will receive our race promote items. Top three finishers overall and in each age group, female and male, will also receive special awards. The SplashDash is an event for both serious runners and for those who like to have fun supporting a great cause, drowning prevention. We offer individual and 4-person team registrations. We offer a referral discount. Refer 4 or more of your friends, neighbors, acquaintances. When they register direct them to reference your name as the person that referred them. After the 4th person submits their paid registration, you will automatically receive a $30 discount refund back to the credit card you used to pay your registration. On average, 10 people drown each day in the U.S., more than one fourth of them children. Our mission is to prevent drownings at guarded pools, waterfronts and waterparks.Our Mission at Drennen’s Dreams Foundation is to honor Drennen’s legacy by teaching and training lifeguards and aquatics professionals, equipping and supporting managers and owners to maintain the highest safety standards. The funds raised from the SplashDash support our presentations to: lifeguards, aquatics managers and facility owners/operators. Drennen drown in a tragic accident at a lifeguarded swimming pool ten years ago. Our mission is no more drownings at guarded facilities. This year we introduced our Drennen's Dreams mobile app, available in Apple and Google app stores. The app provides drowning prevention and water safety information,. We also have a subscription module in the app where aquatic managers can sign up their organization, select the in-service training modules they want their staff to receive on specific dates. On those dates our app will push the in-service training modules to lifeguards and aquatics staff mobile devices. We will be able to confirm the modules are opened and completed. This dramatically increases the amount of training lifeguards and aquatics staff receive. That builds their proficiency, confidence and vigilance which increase patron safety by reducing rescues or more serious incidents. We will provide managers with reports they can use in risk analysis and with their insurance company to reduce risk.
