The best thing(s) about the race:
• Positive and welcoming environment for a novice
• The size - large enough to feel festive and competitive but small enough so that it didn’t feel overcrowded.
• Well organized with a well marked course.
What was less than ideal: After the race, the majority of the sponsored beverages were alcoholic (beer and mimosas). I would have loved water and non-alcoholic drinks.
What I didn't expect: No major surprises.
Race organization: Outstanding!
Fuel and aid stations: It was fine - not terrible but not great.
Overall grade: 5 stars
