RunGR is keeping the tradition of celebrating St. Patrick's Day with a 5K "running" this year! We have worked out a plan that is designed to provide YOU with a GREAT and safe experience. We are excited to provide the community with an in-person race experience, be sure to read our plan below before you register.
We will be using Kent County's Millennium & Meadows Parks. The 5K course will be using the trail system and will feature a point to point course. To keep everyone spread out, participants will be registering to participate in time blocks of 5 minutes. Currently, only 15 people are allowed per time block; however, as Covid-19 conditions approve, we hope to sprinkle additional capacity into each of the waves. We will be using chip timing, allowing participants to compete against the entire field of participants, not just those who in their wave.
Make sure to click the "VIEW ALL" events button in orange to see all of the available time waves & virtual option.
Here are some additional modifications we have made:
- Face masks are required in all common areas, at the start, and after you finish the race.
- No spectators.
- No water on the course. Metro Health will be onsite to provide any aid that is necessary.
- Bib & shirt pickup only on race day.
What you can expect:
- MUSIC at the start and finish area
- an EMCEE
- Gear Check
- the best possible trail conditions, we are working with the Kent County Parks to get that snow off the trail
- Post-race refreshments in a "to go" bag
- Porta-potties (because what is a race without them?)
- a new t-shirt to add to your wardrobe (deadline to secure your size is March 7)
- $20 entries for anyone under the age of 18 (this will automatically be calculated when you register)
- Partnership with a great organization that aims to make kids safer on bikes, Riding For Ryan
We are offering a virtual option for those who are not able to participate in person, make sure to select "view all" and scroll all the way down to locate it as a registration option.
No refunds or deferrals will be provided. If something prohibits the event from taking place, all participants will be moved into the virtual race option.
