The 2021 Race to the Taste 5K presented by Truliant Federal Credit Union has been postponed due to the Taste of Charlotte Festival's new date: October 1st, 2nd and 3rd. We are hoping to set the new date to coincide with the festival but do not have an exact time & date set yet.

The 5K, Race to the Taste, will start at 9am followed by the Cupcake Run/Walk at 9:45am. The 5K course will follow the city streets Uptown for a beautiful skyline view. Runners can participate in the traditional full course 5K or can enjoy a lighter menu of the 1 mile Cupcake Run/Walk…grabbing mini cupcakes along the route – racing to the end or taking it slow enjoying their local cupcakes.

Making the race more appetizing, Runners who register for the 5k prior to September 15 will receive a premium UNISEX race shirt and an awesome swag bag which includes a ticket to a Charlotte Checkers game, a Taste of Charlotte Super Coin that can be used to purchase any food item from any of the participating restaurants at the Taste of Charlotte Festival and more!
T-Shirt and Swag Bag are not guaranteed to runners who register after September 15th.
Participants of the Cupcake Run/Walk will receive a UNISEX t-shirt and cupcakes!! You can run or walk in both at a discounted rate and still receive a swag bag.
*Please note that if you register for both races at the discounted rate, you will only receive the 5K UNISEX T-shirt, NOT two t-shirts and you will not receive the swag bag if only registering for the Cupcake Run/Walk.
Stick around after the race for the Food Lion After-Party with awards in multiple age divisions, live music, a cold Corona Premier, more cupcakes and the kick-off of Taste of Charlotte at 11:00am. Please bring your ID if you plan to have a Corona Premier!
Taste of Charlotte has partnered with the Checkers Charitable Foundation again this year. A donation will be made from the proceeds of the 5k. The Checkers will be onsite with Chubby and the Checkmates to help cheer on the runners.
