Lake Area Runners Presents 4 for the Fourth!

Date and time: Monday July 4th, 2022 @7:00 am

Location: Police Jury Parking Lot @ the corner of Lakeshore Drive and Gill Street, Lake Charles, LA 70601

Lake Area Runner's hottest race of the year!! Come help us celebrate our nation's independence by running 4 miles for the 4th!

This course is flat and fast and will be ran as an out and back along the scenic Lakeshore Drive where you will be able to appreciate our beautiful lakefront.

There will be at least one water stop at the turn around. Be sure to show your patriotism with all the red, white, and blue you can handle in the heat!

When we say it's our hottest race, we mean it literally. So please be sure to hydrate well the day before, during, and after. Be aware of the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. We want everyone to have a fun and safe race!

We will have refreshing cold drinks, beer, popsicles, and hot dogs for participants at the finish.

Run fast enough and you could score some fireworks if you win in your age group!

***This is the final race of the Triple Crown Series! If you complete the Athlete's Corner 3 Miler, Contraband 5 Miler, and LAR's 4 for the Fourth you will receive a special prize! Prizes will be available for pickup after the 4 Miler. The overall male and female winners will receive free race entries for all of our 2023 races! (This will be calculated using your chip times from all 3 races. You will be notified of your winning once we have finalized everything and determined the champs.)

Registration Fees:

• $40 Early Bird rate: Now – 3/25/22 @ midnight

• $45 Regular rate: 3/26/22 – 7/30/22 @midnight

• T-shirt guarantee cut off: Monday 6/27/22 (Be sure to register early to guarantee a race shirt!)

• Registration Closes: Thursday 7/30/22

• Race Day registration: $50

Where: Southern Running Co. located at 615 E. Prien Lake Rd, Lake Charles, LA 70601

When: Saturday July 2nd, 2022 from 12:00-5:00pm

Race day packet pickup will start at 6:00am at the blue Lake Area Runners tent.

Age Group Awards:

1st, 2nd, and 3rd place fireworks awards will be awarded in 10 year age groups for males and females as follows:

0-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
