Hi! Welcome to this year's first-ever Hybrid Move n' Groove event put on by the Prosthetics & Orthotics Program at California State University, Dominguez Hills. We invite you to participate in our virtual/in-person (your choice) mobility event designed to get you moving in whatever way you can – walking, running, pushing in a wheelchair, rollerskating, biking, etc! 100% of the proceeds from this event will benefit the organization, A Leg to Stand On (ALTSO).
ALTSO is a non-profit organization based in NYC that has helped provide more than 18,500 children in developing nations receive critical orthopedic care. The mission of this company is to provide need-based equipment to empower mobility and independence to those who need it most. In 2005, the World Health Organization (WHO) estimated that out of the 30 million people in need of prosthetic and/or orthotic treatment, 75% of those people live in developing countries and do not have access to domestic service in place. Companies such as ALTSO helps to staff local professionals to serve those who need these devices most.
Considering lots of new restrictions amidst the current COVID-19 pandemic, we are looking for individuals like you to unite in whatever way you are most comfortable to help fundraise for and promote the fundamental right to independent mobility worldwide and help those who need it most. We look forward to seeing you one way or another.
