LIVESTRONG AT THE YMCA , a FREE 12 week, research-based program, supports cancer survivors in regaining their physical, emotional and spiritual strength and is conducted in a small group environment that includes individualized attention for each participant. Adult survivors are eligible to join the program during all stages of recovery. LIVESTRONG AT THE YMCA also serves and embraces the families and caregivers that have been affected by the disease by providing a free family membership throughout the course of the program.
START/FINISH:
All races begin and end at the North Hanover Area YMCA, 500 George St., Hanover, PA. The race route will close at 11:30 AM. Changing rooms and showers are available in the Y.
RACE COURSE
This 13.1 mile, Half Marathon course, is a winding loop through Hanover, Pennsylvania. Beginning at the Hanover Y, runners will pass beautiful farmland and scenic views in the Hershey Heights area. With only one significant hill, the race’s total elevation gain is approximately 550 feet. Runners will enjoy a long downhill and cross over into the industrial park ultimately leading them to Hanover’s newly renovated rail trail. The end of the course loops through tree lined streets and ends back at the YMCA.
The 3.1 mile, 5K course, is a paved loop that is relatively flat and fast. Runners will follow tree-lined streets and and also pass through the Hanover High School campus.
The Kids Fun Run will take place on the YMCA property.

In the event that COVID-19 is still prevalent, we will keep the same plan as 2020. Based on the situation in our world, the following plan may and will most likely change.

- Runners are required to wear masks upon arrival and until actively running in the race. We recommend bringing a disposable mask and tossing it at start.
- To better distance the start, runners will be put in start corrals based on their estimated finish time.
- Spectators will be strongly encouraged to watch from the course.
- YMCA restrooms will be for runners only.
- There will be no awards ceremony with awards available for pick up at 1pm (maybe earlier).
