The best thing(s) about the race:
• Off the charts energy from the race director, emcee & volunteers as well as all the participants.
• Best Post race meal ever - pancakes, breakfast burritos, fresh donuts, yogurt parfaits, chocolate, mimosas!
• They waited for all athletes to finish before starting awards.
What was less than ideal: There is a HUGE hill to climb from swim to T1. It is well advertised and separate prizes are awarded for people who climb it the fastest, but it is really hard!
What I didn't expect: Bad weather the night before caused downed trees and power lines so the bike was canceled. I thought I'd be disappointed but somehow not a single thing was lost.
Race organization: Excellent Organization and very friendly staff.
Fuel and aid stations: Honey Stinger Gels, water & gatorade available
Overall grade: 5 stars
