The Playoff Run: Baseball Meets 6.2 Miles
Baseball season is heading toward October. We’re giving fans another reason to get moving, represent their squad, and have a little fun getting there.
6.2 miles. 17 days. Any pace. Any place.
Welcome To The Playoff Run
The Everyday Athlete by Run Tri Bike and Black At The Ballpark are bringing two communities together for something that feels pretty obvious once you think about it: baseball and movement.
The Playoff Run is a virtual 10K beginning September 13 and running through September 29. Your challenge is simple: cover 6.2 miles before baseball’s postseason begins.
Run it. Walk it. Run/walk it. Knock out all 6.2 miles at once or spread them across multiple days.
We don’t care what your watch says.
Movement is the goal.
How The Playoff Run Works
Cover 6.2 Miles Your Way
You’ve got 17 days to cover 6.2 miles. That’s it.
There are no pace requirements and no cutoff time. You don’t have to consider yourself a runner. You don’t even have to complete the entire distance on the same day.
If you’re moving forward, you’re doing it right.
Represent Your Baseball Squad
This is where baseball comes in.
Pick the squad you spend the summer cheering for, yelling about, and occasionally questioning your life choices over.
Grab your favorite baseball cap and wear it while you’re collecting your miles.
Mets. Braves. Brewers. Twins. Blue Jays. Mariners. Giants. Whoever you’ve got, represent them.
Move With Us Toward October
The Playoff Run begins September 13 and continues through September 29.
That gives you 17 days to finish your 6.2 miles before we turn our attention toward postseason baseball.
This 10K Is For Everybody And Every Body
You don’t have to be fast or run every day.
You don’t have to own a carbon-plated shoe, understand your VO2 max, or spend Tuesday night analyzing your Strava data like it’s the Zapruder film.
Movement is all that is required
That’s what being an Everyday Athlete is about. There is a spot at the starting line for everybody and every body, and The Playoff Run is another opportunity to prove it.
Whether you’re already running every week, starting a new fitness journey, or simply love baseball enough to let it trick you into exercising, you’re invited.
Your Miles Can Make An Impact
The Playoff Run isn’t only about getting people moving.
Twenty-five percent of proceeds after costs will be donated to The Players Alliance.
That means showing up for The Playoff Run helps us turn a funbaseball-meets-running idea into something bigger than the miles we’re collecting.
