Songs That Carry Every Mile

No Skip Albums and Best Running Songs | Music for Every Mile Everyday Athlete Run Tri Bike

I’ll be honest, I was a bit jealous because I’m usually right in the middle of these conversations. This time? I was somewhere on the highway driving back from the Oakland Marathon, probably negotiating with my legs and a gas station coffee, while Joe Hardin and Santino Williams took over What’s In Your Earbuds?

And somehow… they made it even more fun. Probably because I was not trying to squint while reading the posts from our community.

The Songs You Never Skip

It all started with a simple question: What are the songs you never skip?

You know the ones. The tracks that carry you through training and race days when things get real. Or the songs that somehow make cleaning your house feel like a victory lap.

Joe and Santino took that idea and ran with it…..literally and figuratively.

Marathon Music That Never Gets Old

We’re talking about artists like Grateful Dead and Kendrick Lamar. The type of music you can loop all day without getting tired of it.

Then came the debate: no-skip albums.

Those rare records where every track matters. No filler. No reaching for the “next” button. Just rhythm, story, and flow…. you know, kind of like the perfect long run when everything clicks.

When the Conversation Goes Off the Rails

And then… well… things got weird but in reality, they just became What’s In Your Earbuds?

The show went from music to first concerts, MTV Unplugged nostalgia, and somehow ended up at karaoke inside an Indian fusion pizza spot. Because of course we did.

Here’s what I keep coming back to: this isn’t just about music.

It’s about connection with other everyday athletes. We bond over music choices. There are laughs over songs we cannot believe others listen to.

We discuss how one song can take you back to why you started. As I say…. this community matters.

At the end of the day, the Everyday Athlete journey? It has a soundtrack.

And trust me… you don’t want to skip it.
