How Music Builds Running Community Run Tri Bike Everyday Athlete

Let me ask you a question… what’s in your earbuds right now?

And be honest. Not your “cool” answer. The real one.

Because on this episode of What’s In Your Earbuds?, Joe and I learned something important: your playlist probably makes no sense… and that’s exactly why it’s perfect.

Music Without Judgment

No Rules, Just Vibes

We had people in our community admitting to everything, including, Disney soundtracks, heavy metal, jazz, rap. All of these genres living in harmony like the world’s most chaotic group run.

And honestly? That’s the point.

Music doesn’t care about your pace. It doesn’t ask for your PR. It doesn’t check your Strava before deciding if you belong. Just like us in the Everyday Athlete Clubhouse.

It just meets you where you are.

That’s what makes it awesome. That’s what makes it community.

When Nostalgia Joins The Run

Fraggle Rock & The Muppets Enter

Somewhere along the way, things got… weird. Odd Duck weird? Sure, let’s go with that.

Fraggle Rock came up. Then The Muppets. And before we knew it, we were deep into childhood memories that somehow still connect to who we are as athletes today.

Because those shows weren’t about perfection. They were about curiosity, joy, and being unapologetically yourself.

Sound familiar?

That’s the Everyday Athlete.

The Birth Of A Ridiculous (Brilliant) Idea

Last Muppet Standing?

Naturally, we did what any responsible adults would do.

We created a race concept.

“Last Muppet Standing.”

Picture this: runners dressed as Muppets, themed aid stations, and yes… someone absolutely attempting 100 miles as Fozzie Bear.

This might live under the Odd Duck Running umbrella someday… or it might stay exactly where it belongs which is in the middle of a ridiculous, joy-filled conversation.

More Than Miles

Here’s the truth:

Music connects us. Nostalgia reminds us who we are. And community? That’s what keeps us coming back.

So next time you hit play before a run, don’t overthink it.

Just press play… and keep moving.
