UMN NROTC Eagle and Anchor 5K

When: May 2, 2021
Where: Minneapolis, MN
Race type(s): 5K, Virtual

The UMN NROTC Eagle and Anchor 5K is a fundraiser for the University of Minnesota Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps. This organization is made up of Naval ROTC students from the University of Minnesota and the University of St. Thomas who are all committed to service in the United States Navy or United States Marine Corps. We develop college students morally, mentally, and physically for service in the Navy and Marine Corps in order to ensure the lasting protection of the United States. This race will be a fun and safe way for the public to support our future naval officers. Proceeds will go towards various important events for our midshipmen, including field training exercises and drill meets.

Throughout the race, race guides/referees will help ensure the safety of racers and keep them directed on the appropriate route. Water and granola bars will also be provided at the start/end point of the race.

*COVID-19 Mitigations: Our 5K Team has worked hard to make sure this event will be as safe as possible by taking all the necessary precautions to help combat COVID-19. Participants will fill out a screening form on race day. The race itself will have 6 feet distance markers at the racing line and sign in line, along with multiple heats of 15 people for the run. We will also provide masks, gloves, and hand sanitizer for participant’s convenience; as well as a cleaning/sanitizing team that will make sure all surfaces are sanitized (masks will be required at all times except for when participants are running). Still don’t feel safe about attending? We have a virtual option where you can still sign up and support UMN NROTC, but you will be remotely running and can post your scores separately on the website.
