Each year walkers and runners participate in a 5K event, in memory of Janice Garbolino, the former Health & Wellness Director of the Metuchen Branch YMCA, who lost her battle with breast cancer in 2002. The annual 5K run/walk supports the YMCA of Metuchen, Edison, Woodbridge, and South Amboy in providing a free exercise program for cancer survivors called LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA. LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA assists those who are living with, through, or beyond cancer to strengthen their bodies, minds, and spirits. Janice would be pleased and proud of the work the YMCA is undertaking through this life-changing program, with more than 400 people having come through our program since 2010, and 66,000 people having graduated from the LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA nationwide.

We invite you to join us in support of this inspirational event on Saturday, September 25 at Roosevelt Park in Edison, NJ as sponsors, runners, or volunteers.
