THE WALK/5K Run for Parkinson's

When: September 25, 2021
Where: Knoxville, TN
Race type(s): 5K, 1K

We are very excited to announce…THE WALK/5K Run for Parkinson's. We are happy to be resuming this event at Ijams Nature Center after shifting to the Virtual 5K Run/1K Walk in 2020 due to COVID-19. Once again all surrounding support groups are coming together in support of ONE event focused on Parkinson's Awareness! We will be UNITED for the cause!

The goal of our 3rd annual Walk-a-Thon and 5K Run is to help people better understand this progressive nervous system disorder and offer patients and their families a caring environment full of support.

In 2015, PJ Parkinson's Support was created and held it's first walk-a-thon that fall. Now in its seventh year, the 5K run was added in 2019 and we are now working with other support groups in the East Tennessee area to increase awareness of Parkinson's Disease and what is being done locally to help those with Parkinson's and their families.

THE 5K Run and 1K Walk for Parkinson's Awareness will be held at the centrally located and picturesque Ijams Nature Center in downtown Knoxville on Saturday, September 25, 2021. On-site registration and bib pickup will begin at 8:00am with the 5K Run beginning at 9:00am, followed by the 1K Walk at 10:00am.
