This 5k is to raise funding for the Polaske family. Zach Polaske, a father, husband and friend of many, was diagnosed with Telangiectatic Osteosarcoma, an extremely rare variant of cancer. His terminal diagnosis came just days after the birth of his third child and coincided with COVID19. This required Zach, his wife Laura and three young children to quarantine as they planned for and prepared to fight his illness. Since this time, Zach has been almost exclusively treated at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Zach has endured multiple surgeries, removing a bone in his leg, tumors in his lungs and heart, countless collapsed lungs and the side effects of multiple rounds of chemo. Despite his excruciating pain, he continues to soldier on.
On 5/31/2021 Zach was placed on hospice. Zach has been unable to work and the young family does not have life insurance.
