Survival of the Slowest 5K

When: March 20, 2021
Where: Gainesville, FL
Race type(s): Virtual 5K

The Florida Museum of Natural History will hold its fifth annual 5K race on March 20, 2021. The theme will complement the featured exhibit, “Survival of the Slowest” opening January 23.

While we are hoping to be on the other side of the pandemic by March, we aren’t sure that large group gatherings will be a good idea by then so we are going virtual! The plus side of going virtual? You can run your 5K anywhere in the world and you can run “with” anyone anywhere! Have a running group you left behind with a move? Wanna challenge your sister in Cincinnati to a showdown? Gotta brother you want to beat in Baltimore? Everyone can register and run together!

Feel free to run your 5K anytime between March 1 and March 20, submit your proof of race, and get cool swag!

Race registration is $20 for locals willing to pick up their swag and $25 for locals or out of towners who prefer their swag mailed to them.

Your registration fee gets you a custom medal and t-shirt (youth sizes available). Plus, everyone who submits their proof of race will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a handmade sloth trophy!

Packet Pick-up will be Saturday, March 20 and Sunday, March 21. All race packs will be mailed out the week of March 22.

**Shirt sizes guaranteed until March 7. After that a shirt is still guaranteed and we will do our best to accommodate requested size.
