Welcome to the 38th annual Shiprock Marathon!

Run Tse’bit’ai!

This spring’s Shiprock Marathon will be virtual event, continuing this amazing 38-year tradition on the Navajo Nation.

The race window works like this. You can run and submit a time for up to four races during the race month of April. Once you register for the "Virtual Race" option above, you are eligible to run and compete for awards in any (or all four) events. The schedule is as follows:

10K – April 4-10
Half Marathon – April 11-17
5K – April 18-24
Marathon – April 25-May 1

The races are virtual, so you can run anywhere that you choose, even in Shiprock if you are in the neighborhood. For your virtual run – no matter where you do it – please be respectful, maintain social distance and consider wearing a neck gaiter.

Your $40 registration fee includes a performance t-shirt, finisher’s medal, SRM decal, a copy of the Navajo Nation Trail Guide, and neck gaiter for the first 100 registered runners, plus you have the chance for awards (see below). All of these items will be mailed to you; there will be no packet pick-up.

There will be 1st place M/F awards in the following categories: overall, youth, masters and senior. Awards may include plaques, pottery and/or Native arts and crafts.

Charity bibs are available. If you fund-raise $250, you will gain free entry and some cool swag, while supporting a great cause. You can also fund-raise more than $250 for additional prizes. Contact us if you would like more information about Shiprock Marathon’s charity bib program. This is a great way to get a free entry and support a good cause.
