Schechter on the Move 5K Race, 1 Mile Fun Run, and Silent Auction managed by Charm City Run
Join us for the 2022 Schechter on the Move 5K Race, 1 Mile Fun Run, and Silent Auction managed by Charm City Run. Your participation helps support the Krieger Schechter Day School!
ENTRY FEES
- $36 for 5K or Virtual 5K
- $25 for 5K or Virtual 5K – Alumni/Staff/Faculty and Current Staff/Faculty
- $18 for 5K or Virtual 5K – children 14 & Younger
- $12 for 1 Mile Fun Run or Virtual 1 Mile Fun Run
Please note:
– All runners registered by Thursday, April 14th, will receive a race t-shirt. Shirts may be available but are not guaranteed after this date.
– The 5K race will be chip-timed
– $10 off each registration when signing up as a family (this applies to all adult 5K registrations and Virtual registrations)
– There are no refunds of entry given or transfers of entry permitted for this event.
DONATE AND/OR FUNDRAISE
During the registration process you will have the opportunity to make an additional donation to Krieger Schechter Day School or start an individual fundraising page! You will have the option to join your class on a fundraising team to collaborate and see who can raise the most funds to help Krieger Schechter Day School. All funds raised will go to supporting scholarships for KSDS students and are greatly appreciated.
VIRTUAL OPTION
We have created a virtual race option for those who would like to participate but are not local, or do not feel comfortable attending an in-person race at this time. Here's how the virtual race works:
1. Register for the virtual event, and sign up for text or e-mail notifications
2. Your race swag will be available for pickup at our pre race packet pickup sessions (see below) or can be mailed to you.
3. You'll receive a text or email (if you opt in) when the virtual race "starts" on May 1st.
4. Run your race and submit your results through the RaceJoy app, by text message or email (if you've opted in), or by heading to the results page here by May 22nd). Results update in real time as people submit their times. Be sure to take a selfie and share through the runsignup.com photo page or download your photo(s) when you report your results.
*Virtual race performances are not eligible for the overall event awards, but we'll certainly be acknowledging the winners in our post-race communication.
PACKET PICK-UP
Krieger Schechter Day School
Information on packet pick-up will be provided 2-3 weeks prior to the race.
We will have limited availability for packet pick-up from 7:00am-7:50am on Race Day.
*we highly recommend that you pick up at one of the pre race day packet pick-ups*
COURSE
TIMELINE OF RACE DAY
Packet Pick-up begins at 7 a.m.
5K and 1 Mile Family Fun Run Start Time 8 a.m. (there may be Wave starts which will be announced closer to race day so race start times may vary)
AWARDS
The Awards Ceremony will take place during the post-race celebration following the race.
Awards will be given to the top male/female overall finishers and the top three male/female finishers in each of the following age groups: 6 and under (top male and female only), 7-10, 11-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and over. All Children under 14 will also receive a special token for participating in either the 5k or 1 Mile Family Fun Run.
Awards will also be given to the top employee, top alumnus and top KSDS student.
Please note: Awards are offered for the in-person event only. There will be no overall or age-group awards for the virtual run (although we will definitely recognize our fastest virtual runners).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
– Children under 10 must run/walk with an adult
– All runners registered by Thursday April 14th will receive a t-shirt. Shirts are not guaranteed after this date.
– For the safety of our runners, the 5K is closed to bikes, rollerblades, skateboards, and pets. Strollers may be used.
– Water stop and mile markers along the course.
— We highly encourage all participants to use the RaceJoy App. With RaceJoy, participants can track their run and send other participants “cheers". Spectators can send “cheers” to participants as they complete their race as well!
LOCATION AND PARKING
– Race begins and ends at Krieger Schechter Day School, 8100 Stevenson Road, Baltimore
– Parking will be available on the Krieger Schechter Day School campus.

From Towson and Downtown Baltimore:
I-695 West towards Pikesville
Exit 21: Stevenson Road
Turn right at the stop sign onto Stevenson Road
Turn left into the Chizuk Amuno entrance
Follow the signs to the Day School
From Columbia:
I-695 East towards Towson
Exit 21: Park Heights Avenue/ Stevenson Road
Cross Park Heights Avenue to the service road that parallels I-695 (Brooks Robinson Drive)
Proceed to the next light, Stevenson Road
Turn left onto Stevenson Road
Turn left into the Chizuk Amuno entrance
Follow the signs to the Day School

Krieger Schechter Day School is a co-educational, independent Jewish day school for children in Kindergarten through Grade 8.
