October 21st & 22nd of 2023

Camping, Bon Fires, Pancakes, Music, Running, Cycling, Beautiful Lakes, Single Track Trails
Welcome to our Annual Sadlers Creek Stumble and Cycle Event! This event is sure to bring out speed in our experienced runners and riders as well as the best in our first timers! Sadlers Creek State Park sits on 395 acres on a peninsula that extends into Lake Hartwell, one of the Savannah River reservoirs. Campsites available on Lake Hartwell at one of lakefront sites, observing wildlife and recreational water sports are only a small sampling of activities to be enjoyed in the park. The event will be run on a 6 Mile loop that encompasses the entire park. The course will run right pass each campground during each loop. This is great for those runners in the longer distances that want to make a quick pit stop at their personal tent or aid station and crew!

Sadlers Creek Course Description for the Bike and Run

The course is a 6.55 mile loop with only a half mile section where runners will be double backing. The course climbs 400 Feet per 6.55 mile loop. (Relatively flat with a few mole hills) From the course you will expect to see Lake Hartwell on several occasions, deer roaming the peninsula, and tall pines towering over the lake! This will be one of your fastest 50ks to date or one of your most enjoyable looped 24 hour runs. If you are a beginner or love the shorter distances we have a 10k and half marathon option. The course will have a series of directional arrows that will be placed at all intersections. Please follow all directional arrows to stay on course. In the event that you make a wrong turn please backtrack to your original spot of confusion.
  • 380 Feet Per Loop – 80% Trail – 10% Gravel – 8% Pavement – 2% Sand with Covered Shade, No Water Crossings, Roots

Personal Tent Set Up & Drop Bags

Athletes who are not camping are permitted to have a drop bag or personal tent near the aid station. Please be mindful to place your personal belongings off the course as to not impede the runners, the flow of traffic, or other race participants. The start and finish line loop will serve as the official drop bag area designation. When you are finished with your race please "pack in and pack out" making the host facility look better than you found it.

Address / Parking

Sadlers Creek State Park is located at 940 Sadlers Creek RD Anderson SC 29626. When entering the park please make sure to have cash to purchase your day pass into the park. If you have a SC State Park pass you will not need to pay. After entering the park please make your first left towards the ball fields and available parking will be designated in the open field. The day use shelter that we will be using for our start/finish line will be another 400 meters down that road on the left hand side. Follow signs.

Meal Options

Upstate Ultra will be offering meal options for runners looking to grab some grub post run! Every meal will come in a traditional southern meat and three style. We will not be selling meal tickets on race day due to pre-ordering enough supplies for our event staff, volunteers, and the runners who pre-ordered a meal. If you would like to purchase multiple meals for yourself, your crew, or spectators please indicate the number in the quantity box. Cost of a Meal: $7.50
Specifically for Sadlers Creek we will be serving two meals.
  • Saturday Dinner (4pm to 6pm)
  • Sunday Brunch (10am to Noon)

Aid Stations

Basic aid stations supplies will be available at the start and finish line only. Water, tailwind, soda, crackers, cookies, broth, chips, and pickles. We gladly accept aid station donations of food items that you like to see at races. Our staff is very busy with course marking, timing, packet pickup, and communication with runners, which makes it hard to prepare some amazing tasty treats in-between laps so feel free to contribute a little slice of heaven if you can! Thank you
  • Cup-less Event: Please provide your own hydration vessel for use at our aid stations
