Race for Rescue

When: October 30, 2021
Where: Waialua, HI
Race type(s): 5K

The Race for Rescue, Oahu Search and Rescue’s primary fund raising event, is a 5K run that has been held each year, in October at the scenic Ka’ena Point State Park. OSAR relies on this event to fund our organization for the next year, covering costs like insurance, technical rescue gear, and educational supplies.

Last year, due to COVID restrictions, we held a virtual race instead.

In 2021, we are planning to again have a virtual event, allow people anywhere in the world to participate. In addition, if COVID regulations permit, we will be having an in person 5K event as well on Saturday, October 30th, 2021.

There are TWO race events you can choose from.

  • The VIRTUAL 5K can be run any time during the race window (October 1st – October 31st), anywhere in the world. You simply run/walk 5k at the location and time of your choosing, and then upload your time to the race website.
  • The IN PERSON 5K will take place (COVID restrictions permitting) on October 30th, at 830am at beautiful Ka'ena Point State Park on Oahua. If we are unable to hold this even, all IN PERSON 5K race registrations will be converted to VIRUTAL 5K registrations.

Race registration, for both events, will open August 15th!
