After much consideration and conversation, and in the best interest of our participants and race staff, we have decided that the 2021 Pink Ribbon Run will be a virtual race. This was a tough decision, but we cannot justify hosting a large-scale event this spring with the threat of Covid-19 still looming strong..
Our charity partner, the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer Research, has also decided to modify their annual spring events for 2021, as have many other organizations.
Participation in the virtual Pink Ribbon Run will be free with an optional shirt for purchase, as well as the option to give a donation to the Vera Bradley Foundation. Sign up for the 2-mile walk or the 4-mile run and submit your results on the race page upon completion. The race distance can be completed any time from Saturday, May 1, to Monday, May 31. You must submit your results on the official race RunSignUp page and you may only submit results once. Results must be submitted on or before May 31.
As it has since 2014, the Pink Ribbon Run will benefit the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer, which raises funds for breast cancer research to find a cure and to improve the lives of the many affected by this disease. Vera Bradley’s co-founders began raising funds after the loss of a dear friend to the disease in 1993. The Foundation has contributed $36 million to the Vera Bradley Foundation Center for Breast Cancer Research at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Center is focused on developing and dramatically improving therapies for some of the most difficult-to-treat types of breast cancer, including triple negative breast cancer. Funds are raised through special events, partner events and individual donations. Learn more about the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer at www.verabradley.org.
Let's work together to end breast cancer, one stride at a time.
