Welcome to the Crush Run to benefit the Meeks Mountain Trail Alliance. Join us on Saturday, February 5th, for the 2nd annual Crush Run Trail Half Marathon, 5k run or hike, and Kids Run. All proceeds go to support further development and maintenance of the Meeks Mountain Trails Alliance.

Race details

Packet pickup is from 7:00-9:00 am on Saturday, February 5th, at Hurricane City Park's big red barn. All race participants in the half marathon, 5k, and kids run can pick up their packets at that time. After 9:00, packets will be available for pickup at the starting line in the back of the bowl. There will be signs directing you to the start line.

Bathrooms are available in the park, and portable restrooms will be available at the Start/Finish.

All races begin in the bowl. You will cross active train tracks, so beware and be careful.

Plan for an extra 15 minutes to walk to the start/finish line.

The half marathon has a 4 hour time limit, and the last aid station will close at 11:30.

Water and sports drink aid stations are available on the course. The 5k and kids run will have one aid station, and the half marathon will have access to an aid station 5 times.

Awards

Awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd overall for both male and female in the half marathon and 5k.

Awards for the 1st place Crush Two Person Teams in both the half marathon and 5k.

The Kids Run is a fun run with unique finisher awards.

Race Hotel

Wingate by Wyndham is offering discounted hotel rates for our out of town guests. To book a room please call the Wingate directly at 681-220-2230 and simply say you will be in town for the Crush Run at Meeks Mountain Trails. King guest rooms are just $99 and Double Queen/Kings are just $105.

Safety

Please be prepared to follow any local Covid-19 or other health and safety guidelines. For anyone with symptoms of any illness please stay home and you will be credited for the 2023 race or refunded.

Safety and EMT will be on call for emergency situations.

Swag and Finish Line

Every runner gets the coveted MMTA Crush Run Buff, tote, and finisher award. Expect a finish line bon fire, marshmallows, Orange Crush, and a West Virginia original, pepperoni rolls.

Registration

Registration is limited to 100 runners for the half marathon and 100 runners for the 5k.

Early registration pricing is $45 for the half marathon, $25 for the 5k and $5 for the kids run. This pricing is available only through August 31, 2021. Between September and January 1st the Half Marathon price will increase to $65 and the 5k to $40. The kids run remains $10 up until race day. From January 1st to February 1st the prices to go $75 for the half marathon, $45 for the 5k and the kids run will remain at $10.

Run with your Crush

Enter as a two person team and compete for the lowest overall time for the Half Marathon and 5K. The two finishing times will be added together to determine the team time. Pricing will remain the same as above.

Rules

Please keep our trails clean and do not litter. If you take it on the trail, take it off the trail.

The trails are open to all users during the race, so beware of your surroundings and the hikers, runners, and mountain bikers that may come from ahead or behind of you. Please, no headphones.

Please be courteous and polite to all volunteers.

Be mindful of the current pandemic and be courteous to other runners and our community.
