The Miles 4 Maryville 10K, 5K, and 1 Mile Run/Walk is in its 10th year. This year's event is back to a traditional format. All three races will be in person. The 10K will begin at 6:30 AM. The 5K will begin at 7:30 AM. The 1 Mile Run/Walk will begin at 8:30 AM. Shirts are guaranteed to all registrants through August 11 at noon. A second shirt order will be made on August 23. Pick-up times will be established and communicated to participants.

Miles 4 Maryville is a fundraising event for the Maryville City Schools Foundation which provides the ongoing enrichment of educational programs for all students in Maryville City Schools. DATE/TIME/PLACE: Saturday, August 21, Maryville High School, 825 Lawrence Avenue, Maryville, TN 37803; NO EVENT DAY REGISTRATION; ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST REGISTER IN ADVANCE.

COURSE DESCRIPTION: The 10K and 5K courses are USATF certified. Both the 10K and 5K are single loop courses with some rolling hills and fast flats, traveling on area roads, greenway, and sidewalks.

  • The 10K begins at 6:30 AM; however, feel free to join up until 7:00 AM to avoid the crowds using just the chip time.
  • The 5K begins at 7:30 AM; however, feel free to join up until 8:00 AM to avoid the crowds using just the chip time.
  • The 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk will begin at 8:30 AM.

Note: Most roads are not closed, but we will have course monitors to try and halt traffic for runners. Runners should be aware that vehicles COULD be on the course. RUNNERS ONLY ALLOWED ON THE 10K COURSE.

REGISTRATION: Online registration is available through noon Friday, August 20, for all events. Guaranteed shirt cut-off is August 11 at noon! Shirts and bibs must be picked up in advance of the race. NO EVENT DAY REGISTRATION or BIB PICK UP.

RACE PACKET PICK-UP:

  • Early packet pick-up will be held on Wednesday, August 18, and Thursday, August 19, at CrossFit Pistol Creek in Maryville. CFPC is located beneath The Daily Times building.
  • Early packet pick-up on Friday, August 21, will be at a location to be determined.

T-SHIRTS: High quality t-shirts guaranteed for all who register by NOON on August 11, 2021. An additional order after the event will be placed on August 23.

CASH PRIZES: For 10K and 5K races, cash prizes will be awarded to the overall top three male and female finishers, and overall top male and female Masters finishers. Prizes will be awarded the day of the race once final results are determined.

  • 5K overall male and female: 1st place-$100, 2nd place-$75, 3rd place-$50
  • 10K overall male and female: 1st place-$250, 2nd place-$175, 3rd place-$100
  • 5K Masters (40+) male and female: 1st place-$30
  • 10K Masters (40+) male and female: 1st place-$75.

5K and 10K Age groups: <8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40+ (Masters)

TIMING: This event is timed electronically with a timing chip attached to your race bib. Your race number/chip is programmed to coincide with your individual race number. During the event, you will cross mats that will record your time from your disposable race bib. Please do not BEND, TEAR OR ALTER your race number. Runners must wear the bibs on the FRONT of their person, and must wear the bib number associated with their name.

RESULTS: Timing services are provided by Knoxville Track Club. Results will be available at www.ktc.org and www.RunSignUp.com.

SAFETY AND COURSE ETIQUETTE: Aid and water stations will be provided along the course and at the finish line this year. Because you will be running on area roads and sidewalks, the use of headphones and baby strollers are discouraged and participants do so at their own risk. Bicycles, roller blades, and pets are prohibited. Note: because this is an open course, there may be traffic on the roads. Parents of young children should run with their kids. ONLY RUNNERS ARE ALLOWED ON THE 10K COURSE.
