You would never guess that Albion was the Sunday night hang out for the infamous Purple Gang or the two sons that started Mother’s Day gave their first Mother’s Day speech in Goodrich Chapel but throughout the History Hustle, you’ll learn fun facts about Albion’s history and pass by locations where history happened.
Your Registration Does More Than Secure Your Spot…
When you register for a Run Albion event you are giving back to the Albion community. With the generous support of our sponsors, we are able to cover the cost of the entire series. Each registration fee is then used as a donation to a local nonprofit organization that provides course volunteers. In 2019 Run Albion donated nearly $3,000 across five different nonprofits. In fact, one donation made by Run Albion doubled the organizations operating budget for the entire year!
5K Run/Walk. The 5K is open to strollers and dogs. Due to the rolling start, we will not have a Kids Fun Run for this event.
5k Special pricing: Students 18 and under $10 discount off the entry fee. Applied automatically during checkout.
Check-In and On-Site Registration: A decision regarding whether this event will be a rolling check-in and rolling start OR return to an "all at once" start will be determined in the weeks prior to the event depending on the current state of the pandemic. We have our fingers crossed for a traditional start at 6:30PM. If the event is a rolling check-in and start it will be from 5:30 – 7:00pm. If you need to register on-site you will be able to do that between 5:30 and 7:00pm
Flexible start time: Start the race any time between 5:30 pm and 7 pm. There will be no crowded mass start. Keep an eye on the start line and begin your race when it is free of other participants. No more than 5 people will start at a time. The start line will be wide, and the space is very open to allow for proper social distancing. You do not have to feel rushed to get to the starting line. Start your race when you are ready. Timing does not start until you cross the timing mats.
The race will be professionally timed by the Michigan Running Foundation. Your accurate chip time and current overall and age group place will be texted to your phone and live on this site. Results will be posted online at Runmichigan.com
HISTORY HUSTLE AWARDS
This year, all participants will receive a finisher medal. Awards will also be given to the top 5 men and top 5 women overall for the in-person individual events. Points will be award to all History Hustle participants which will be used in determining series awards.

The race will be professionally chip timed by the Michigan Running Foundation. Results will be posted during the race and online at Playmakers.com.
VIRTUAL 5K RUN/WALK
If you cannot make the Run Albion series events in person, but you would still like to participate and support the local non-profits that are beneficiaries of Run Albion's proceeds, you can complete the Virtual Run Albion series! A virtual race is a race that can be run (or walked) from any location you choose. You can run, jog, or walk on the rod, or the trail, or the treadmill, at the gym or on the track (or even at another race). You get to run your own race, at your own pace, and time it yourself. All participants will receive a medal!
What: This is a virtual race, so you choose your own course and time yourself.
When: Complete your race any time on or before Juen 27th. Medals will ship by July 12, 2021..
Where: You choose the course and you time yourself. Text your results using the link provided when you signed up and that will be your official time.
Why: You want to participate because you love Albion as much as we do, you just can't always be in Albion in person.
Cost: The price is $25 and includes a finishers medal and race swag.
Series Awards: Just as with our in-person event, we'll award overall series awards if you participate in 2 out of the 3 virtual events. It is important to note that if you participate in 1 in-person event and 2 virtual events, you'll be eligible for virtual series awards but if you participate in 2 in-person events and 1 virtual event, you'll be eligible for in-person series awards. Your points between the two different event types will not be combined, virtual points will go towards virtual overall series awards and in-person points will go towards in-person overall series awards.
