GE Women's Network - Paula Martin Memorial Race

When: October 2, 2021
Where: Greenville, SC
Race type(s): 10K, 5K

A Virtual 5K and 10K run/walk for the GE Women's Network (WN) Paula Martin Memorial Race to raise funds for the GE WN scholarships awarded by the Society of Women Engineers. This race is in honor of Paula Martin who was Greenville's WN executive sponsor for many years and a true trailblazer in supply chain. She was the first female plant leader and first female executive in Greenville paving the way to many young professionals at GE.

Participants get a custom 2021 collectable pin with their registration. Additionally, the race registration fee is waived with $50 donation, and a free shirt is included with $100 donation. For GE employees making donations, we have a special section for with instructions for GE Matching.

The training competition will take place from August 27 to September 23, with a race window from September 24 to October 2. The race planning team is hoping to coordinate an optional in-person window on Saturday, October 2 (details to come). However, all participants across any location can complete their race virtually at their own pace.

For those who are not located in Greenville, GEWN will coordinate US shipping to one central location for team members to pick up their pins and shirts.

Participants can choose to join a team or run as individuals. Join an existing team or create your own with co-worker, family and friends (this race is open to all-non GE employees). Participants can run, walk or "sleep" this race. "Sleepers" are those that decide to sign-up, not run the race but contribute financially to the race or to different teams. After registration, participants will be able to see the information for the Strava link to their teams.

We have recently created a Frequently Asked Questions section.
