This unique race will take place completely within the Grafton Correctional secure perimeter. We will run a 3/4 mile loop for either a 5k (4 loops) or 10K (8 loops).
We will be running with residents that are part of the Running2bwell training program that recently started at GCI and all proceeds will support Running2bwell.
Runners will receive a custom t-shirt (either from the prison or we'll have them printed). Most importantly, you'll have the chance to run some miles with men that are working hard to improve their lives on their homecourt.
MALE RUNNERS ONLY, sorry ladies!
For security and logistical reasons we're limiting entries to the first 20 to register.
You must arrive by 5:45 pm to clear security. This isn't your usual race.
Runners cannot bring anything except water bottles, hats, and watches. No phones, headphones, etc. You must bring a photo id and will need to lock your car keys in a locker at the entry point. Everyone is subject to search. While this is one of the safest facilities in the state, it's still a prison, and security for all is the highest priority.
If you can't make it, please consider making a donation of any size to support this new and exciting program.
