We're back in 2021!

Herald the beginning of summer in the Northern Hemisphere by running the 6th annual Frederick Summer Solstice 8k (Frederick County's Original Twilight Race), presented by the Frederick Steeplechasers Running Club.

We are very hopeful that we will be able to hold a safe in-person race in 2021, with some adjustments and accommodations to ensure the safety of our runners and volunteers. To ensure maximum flexibility, we are planning on offering a hybrid race with both in-person and virtual options. We will have detailed COVID safety procedures in place in alignment with current federal, state, and local health recommendations.

Participants may transfer between the in-person and virtual race events until June 11th.

Beneficiary

Net proceeds will be donated to the Frederick chapter of Blessings in a Backpack. The local chapter works in partnership with the national Blessings in a Backpack organization to provide weekend food to children who depend on the federal Free And Reduce-Price Meal program as their primary source of nutrition. The food distribution effort from Blessings In A Backpack has been especially critical during the COVID-19 crisis, so our support is more important than ever. The Frederick Steeplechasers have donated over $99,000 in net proceeds from the race since 2016!
