Carley Rains is a former student-athlete at SAU. As a former athlete with a disability, she understands the adversity that it takes to overcome being a student-athlete with a disability. This inspired her to start the Overcoming Adversity Scholarship upon graduating. The Farm Road Challenge is a 5K and half-mile kids’ fun run on the SAU Campus & Farm Road to raise money for the scholarship. The Overcoming Adversity Scholarship is a scholarship for athletes with disabilities at Southern Arkansas University.
