Earth Day 5K

When: April 17, 2021
Where: Hobe Sound, FL
Race type(s): 5K, Virtual

Welcome to the 1st Annual Earth Day 5K presented by The Friends of Jonathan Dickinson State Park and Southern Timing.

We love the earth, it’s beautiful, amazing … and it needs our help. The phrase Earth Day originated in 1969. It means “a day’s observance of the need to protect the Earth’s environment”, and in today’s busy world, it’s more important than ever!

Our race will take you back along the Kitching Creek Trail in the west end of the park, winding through beautiful scenery and along the tree-lined canopy of the famous Loxahatchee River.

We wanted a day for our Friends and community to join us in celebrating our amazing planet and our beloved park while getting outdoors (socially distanced of course) and exercising in the fresh cool air of spring.

Proceeds benefit the Friends of Jonathan Dickinson State Park, Inc.; a 501c(3) providing direct support to help enhance the ecological, historical, and cultural resources of our beautiful park.

Trail Conditions:

The trail is natural surface; mostly dry grass, with some sugar sand mixed in. As this trail is in a low-lying area of the park there can be puddles and slightly uneven terrain.
