Taking from some ideas we learnt in 2020, the 2021 Columbus State Cougar 5k Challenge will be run as a hybrid event.

What does that mean.? We will have two event options. The first, as in years past will be an in-person** 5k Run/Walk event held at the Delaware Campus. The second will be a virtual event like we did in 2020. We believe these two options will allow most individuals to participate in the format that best suits their own schedule. **The in-person race is subject to format change should the State Health Department not permit us to meet in large groups. Should this happen, all in-person participants will be transferred into the virtual event**

The Columbus State Cougar 5k Challenge enters its 11th Year with the event sponsored by the Staff Advisory Council of Columbus State. The Cougar 5k Challenge supports book scholarships for Columbus State Community College students. Each year, the Staff Advisory Council of Columbus State has been able to increase the total number of book sponsorships provided to CSCC students from race registrations like yours.

The cost of books is a significant and often overlooked cost of attending college. While every effort is made to provide students affordable options, sometimes there is no way around the costs of up to date, high-quality textbooks. Your participation and support of this race will help us to endow book scholarships so all students can “cross the finish line” of their education.

Swag Bag Pickup

In lieu of a packet pick-up, we’ll be handing out swag bags with each participant’s t-shirt and medal sometime after we’re able to return to campus. If you’re not on campus, we will make plans to get you your swag bag another way.
