Cleft Palate Gallop 5K and Fun Walk

The 12th annual Cleft Palate Gallop 5K run/walk is scheduled for Saturday, September 25th, 2021 at 7:30 AM. All profits benefit the UNC Craniofacial Center. Thanks so much for your participation!

WHERE: The race start location is the Old Well on the UNC-Chapel Hill campus. An approximate address is: 180 E. Cameron Ave., Chapel Hill, NC 27514.

DISTANCES: 5K Run and 1.2 Mile Family Fun Walk

REGISTRATION: The cost for pre-registration is $20 for the 5K or $20 for the fun walk. Online preregistration will end on Thursday, September 23rd at 11:59PM. In-person registration will be available at 6:30 AM the morning of the race. The cost for registering on race day will be an additional $5 ($25 for 5K or for fun walk).

PACKET PICKUP: Packets may be picked up starting at 6:30 AM on race day. Packet pickup will also be available on Friday, September 24th from 4-7 PM at Fleet Feet Sports in Carrboro located at 310 E Main St #120, Carrboro. Dental school affiliates may also pick up their packets at the dental school atrium from 1-2 PM on the 24th.

RACE: The running route will be the Franklin 5K, a USATF-certified course. Electronic chip timing will be used. Strollers, wagons, and friendly pets welcome! Pets must be on a leash at all times.

T-SHIRT: Participants that pre-register for the 5K or Fun Walk will be guaranteed a T-shirt. Those who sign up on race day will receive a T-shirt as available.

AWARDS: Awards will be given to the overall first, second, and third place male and female runners as well as the top male and female runners in each age group: 15 and under, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+.

The Cleft Palate Gallop is organized by students of the UNC Adams School of Dentistry. All profits from the race will be donated to the UNC Craniofacial Center to help cover the treatment costs of children with cleft lip or cleft palate.
