Child Watch Lazy Days of Summer 0.5K

When: August 21, 2021
Where: Paducah, KY
Race type(s): 0.5K

Dust off those sneakers! We're back in "action" at Paducah Beer Werks!!!

Donuts, beer, cool t-shirts and support for our community's most vulnerable children – it just doesn't get much better than that.

Once again we are giving you the opportunity to know what it feels like to cross a finish line without getting sweat on your workout clothes! It's the race for the rest of us.

The Rules…

What are the rules? Not many.
  1. Register
  2. Raise money for Child Watch
  3. Raise money for Child Watch
  4. Raise money for Child Watch

Team Work!

Did you see the part about raising money? Get a team together and crowd fund for Child Watch. The team donating the most money is the big winner! Team Captains can create a team and send invites to other team members. You can set your own fundraising goal and start harassing friends and family for donations in no time!

Hey kids!

Get your own kid-powered team together and show your parents who wears the sweatpants in the family.

All Swag – No Sweat

You still get all the swag without all the sweat. Sound good?
Adults
For your $40 registration fee adult "runners" get a newly designed extra-comfy t-shirt, a swanky 0.5K pint glass so you can hydrate long after the race is over, and of course a pretentious oval Euro-style decal for your car – unscientifically proven to get you out of speeding tickets in certain Kentucky counties.
Kids
For your $25 registration fee kids 17 and under get a t-shirt and decal. When registering select MINOR. The reduced entry fee will not show up on the registration page but will be applied at checkout. Please don't get confused. Save your energy for the big day.

Prizes

We know your heart is in the right place, but don’t forget there is a little something in it for you too! We will have prizes for best costume, the laziest "runner", and most money raised.

FAQs….

  • What if I'm athletically challenged? You've come to the right place.
  • Will people point and laugh at my awkward running style? It's called freestyle. Do your thang.
  • What if I need a smoke break? Not recommended but whatever get's you through the night. It's all right. It's all right.
  • What if all my workout clothes are from the 80s? Nothing wrong with a retro, Jane Fonda vibe. No judgment here.
  • What if I tend to stumble over absolutely nothing? It's fine. That's what the liability waiver is for.
  • What if I only own flip flops and Doc Martens? You just might be the coolest person at the race.
NOBODY CARES HOW YOU DO IT OR WHAT YOU LOOK LIKE – IT'S ALL ABOUT THE FUNDRAISING! JUST GET YOUR WALLET OUT AND REGISTER!

Race Day

We will be at Paducah Beer Werks at 9am for sign-in and swag pick-up. Come early and carb up while listening to to live (pre-recorded) music. At 10:00-ish we will have a very minimal warm-up (wouldn't want to over exert ourselves) and then it's show time! Four leisurely laps around the parking lot (relax – no one is counting) and bam! You cross the finish line and unleash your inner-champion. Run, crawl, skip, sashay…. anything goes! Lollygagging encouraged!
Awards will be presented after the last person crosses the finish line. What time? We have no idea so please quit asking. Be sure to stick around for lunch at PBW and bask in the glory of your accomplishment. Nothing says victory like a basket of wings and pepperoni chips. Now that's the sweet smell of success!
