The Gateway Regional family lost one of its most special members when Cheryl Baldosaro passed away from cancer in October 2020. In honor of her memory, we are holding a 5k run/walk to warm up our bodies because Cheryl absolutely hated being cold. Proceeds from this event will be split between families in need at Gateway and a scholarship in honor of Cheryl's memory to be awarded yearly to two Gateway seniors.

WHEN:
The race begins Saturday, April 15th, at 9 am with packet pickup beginning at 8:00am! This year event will partner with Gateway Regional High School's Gator Day! Festivities will continue until 1pm. You can also pick up your swag bag on April 14 at Gateway from 2:30-5pm.

Friday, April 14:
2:30pm-5pm: Swag Bag pickup at Gateway
Saturday, April 15th:
8:00-8:45am- Swag Bag/Packet Pick Up
9am-10am: Racers, take your marks!
Noon: Basket Raffle winners announced
9am-1pm: Shop the Gateway Gator Day vendors, and view sporting events!
1pm: That's all, folks! Come again next year!

WHERE:

The race begins and ends at Gateway Regional High School and runs through Woodbury Heights. A a basket raffle will be held and a DJ will keep the party going!

GROUPS/TEAMS:
Register with multiple people at a time and lower the website fees! Also, create or join a group when you register and challenge each other for the best times. Perfect timing for spring sports preseason! The group with the largest number of members will get their name printed on the back of the shirts with the rest of the race's sponsors.

No VIRTUAL?
The race will be live this year, unlike two years ago's a virtual race. However, if you don't want to run the race live, you can pick up your swag bag that morning and run the race on your own. You just won't be eligible for the first-place prizes.

ABOUT CHERYL:

Cheryl Baldosaro was a beloved member of Gateway Regional's faculty. She passed away in October 2020 at 52 and her absence has deeply affected the Gateway community. Cheryl was a special education teacher and spent most of her time teaching Academic Skills, working tirelessly with struggling students to help them with their classes. She was known to bring in snacks for her students and magic cookie bars for her colleagues. She also enjoyed beaming with pride when she talked about her children, Jessi and Alex, as well as her husband of 29 years, Anthony. Cheryl was almost always cold and wore layers of shirts, sweaters and turtlenecks, hence the theme of the 5k! Everyone that knew her loved her and appreciated her. Cheryl was kind, friendly and approachable, and her friends were lucky to know her.
