The event includes a 1/2 marathon run and a 5K run/walk. The 5K also provides an opportunity for families and people with pets to participate. Both are held on the Yough River Trail of the Great Allegheny Passage (GAP) which provides a flat, fast, crushed limestone surface. Medals are given in both races.

The Mon Yough Trail Council (MYTC) hosts this race, and 2020 marks the 10th anniversary. It raises necessary funds for trail maintenance and upkeep throughout the year. The MYTC is one of a network of all-volunteer trail councils that exist along the GAP specifically to keep the trail open and accessible for all.
