IMPORTANT DEADLINES – We want to recognize everyone's loved one so, we ask that you register by the deadline dates to ensure their name(s) are included!

Memorial Name: register by 9/20 to include your loved ones name on the race shirts (do not put your own name for the memorial name submission on registration – the name will be included as you enter it)

Shirt Order: register by 9/30 to receive a free race shirt with registration

If we have extra shirts on race day, these will be available on a first come, first serve basis once the race ends. Shirts will be $10 each.

We are so excited to be hosting an in person memorial run this year! The 13th Annual Baby Steps Memorial Run will be held on Saturday, October 16th at Homestead Hollow in Springville, AL. If you have never been to Homestead Hollow for a craft show, car show or other event it is beautiful! We feel like the atmosphere is perfect for our race and cannot wait for you all to join us! We know you love the not so hot days to race so we were able to secure a Fall date at the new location!

Homestead Hollow is located in Springville, Alabama, just 2 miles off I-59, exit 154. Do you have friends/family who want to support you but cannot race? They can bring a chair and watch you participate!

The Baby Steps Committee is working hard to make sure we practice proper social distancing for our event. The uncertainty of Covid has made it difficult to plan large events in advance. We will offer hybrid registration this year. What does this mean? You have the option to race in person or on your own at any location you choose. You will have the flexibility to change your registration type (in person or virtual) up until the week of the race. We understand life is full of changes and want each of you to make a personal choice that fits your families needs. Please note if you choose the "virtual" option, your results cannot be included in the in person race results. The 5k participants will have chip timing and being virtual will not allow the times for anyone else to be included.

This event is a fundraiser for The Amelia Center at Children's of Alabama. We encourage everyone to set up an individual or team fundraiser page to help raise more donations for The Amelia Center.

8:15 am – 1 Mile will begin

*please plan to arrive no later then 7:30 – we will block off the entrance at this time for everyone's safety

*TEAM REGISTRATION – $5 off registration will be applied to all participants on the team once the 5th person registers on the team

If registered by 9/30/21 – registration fees include a race shirt and swag (race shirts cannot be ordered after 9/30)

If registering after 9/30 – registration fees include swag (shirts may be available after registration on race day but are not guaranteed – first come, first serve $10 each)

We highly recommend early packet pick-up! This will save you time on race day! We encourage you to pick up your team or family packets!

TEAM/GROUP PICKUP: Text your team name and desired time of pick-up to 205-603-6049. We will send a text back to confirm the pick-up time and let you know if we need to adjust the time.

Post-Race: Awards will be give for each age category of the 5k and for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd participants who cross the 1 mile finish line. We plan to distribute the awards on race day. We will also have door prizes, refreshments and a memorial song to conclude the event.
